Mini Facelift Surgery in Epsom

The Mini Facelift is one of our most popular procedures at The Wilson Clinic. It is the ideal choice for patients who desire a rejuvenated appearance but do not feel they need or want the downtime associated with a traditional full facelift.

Is a Mini Facelift Right for Me?

This procedure is best suited for individuals noticing early signs of aging, specifically:

- Jowls forming along the jawline.

- Loose skin around the chin and upper neck.

- A desire for natural-looking results with minimal disruption to daily life.

Note: While a mini facelift focuses on the lower face, concerns regarding the brow, eyes, or lower neck can be addressed through complementary procedures. Mr. Wilson will discuss a bespoke plan with you during your consultation.

The Procedure: Precision & Comfort

A mini facelift at The Wilson Clinic is a refined, less-invasive surgical experience.

- Duration: The procedure takes approximately 3 hours.

- Anaesthesia: Performed under local anaesthetic on an outpatient basis—no general anaesthetic or overnight hospital stay required.

- Technique: A discreet incision is made around the ear. Mr. Wilson gently lifts the skin and tightens the underlying muscle layer using dissolving stitches. Excess skin is removed, and the area is closed with fine, buried sutures for a seamless finish.

Recovery & Results

Most patients can return to their normal activities within one week, but not excercise or the gym for several weeks. While you may experience mild swelling around the ears or require light analgesics, bruising is typically minimal.

The results of a mini facelift generally last around five years. Because this is a relatively minor procedure, it does not exclude you from having more extensive surgery or further mini-lifts in the future as you continue to age gracefully.

How long does it take to recover from a mini facelift?

Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and social settings within 7 days. While minor swelling and incision redness are normal, the recovery is significantly faster than a traditional facelift because it is performed under local anaesthetic.

How does this differ from a "Full" facelift?

A mini facelift targets the jowls and jawline with shorter incisions and less downtime. A full facelift addresses the mid-face and the entirety of the neck. Mr. Wilson will help you decide which is best based on your skin elasticity and goals.

Is the procedure painful?

Because we use a local anaesthetic, you will not feel pain during the surgery. Post-operatively, some patients experience discomfort or a "tight" sensation.

What are the risks involved?

Complications are minimal. However, as with any surgery, there is a small risk of infection or bleeding. We provide comprehensive post-operative support to ensure you heal correctly, and we strongly advise abstaining from smoking to ensure the best possible results.
