Ear Lobe Repair
in Epsom

Over time, the delicate skin of the earlobe can become compromised. Whether caused by years of wearing heavy earrings, a sudden snag, or the intentional stretching of "gauges," an enlarged or completely split hole can be both a cosmetic concern and a practical frustration.

A split makes it impossible to wear your favorite jewellery, while an enlarged hole risks losing an earring or having it become painfully embedded in the lobe itself. At The Wilson Clinic, we offer a straightforward, effective solution to restore the natural contour of your ear, allowing you to move forward with confidence.

The Procedure: A Stronger, Smarter Repair

Performed under local anaesthetic, the repair involves carefully excising the edges of the split or stretched hole. To ensure the most durable and aesthetically pleasing result, Mr Wilson utilizes a "zig-zag" scar technique.

Why a zig-zag? A straight vertical scar is prone to "notching" as it heals. A zig-zag repair is structurally stronger, resists stretching, and blends more naturally with the curves of the ear.

The procedure is quick, and the downtime is minimal. You will return to the clinic just one week later for the removal of the tiny, precise stitches.

How long is the recovery?

Downtime is minimal. You can return to most daily activities immediately. We simply ask that you keep the area clean and dry until your stitches are removed one week after the procedure.

When can I wear earrings again?

To ensure the tissue has fully healed and regained its strength, you must wait at least 6 weeks before wearing earrings.

Do you offer re-piercing?

Yes. We recommend waiting the full 6-week healing period, after which you can return to The Wilson Clinic. Mr Wilson can professionally re-pierce your new earlobes, ensuring the placement is perfect and avoids the previous scar line.

Will the scar be noticeable?

While any surgical incision results in a scar, Mr Wilson’s specialised zig-zag technique is designed to break up the scar line, making it much less visible than a traditional straight-line repair. Once the "tiny stitches" are removed after one week, the scar will initially appear as a thin pink line.

The Candidate Checklist

03

Are you unable to wear stud earrings because they "fall through" the hole?

04

Are you looking for a quick, permanent fix with minimal downtime?

With nearly 30 years of experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Mr Geoff Wilson treats even the smallest procedures with the highest level of precision. Ear lobe repair requires a delicate hand to ensure the ear maintains its natural, rounded shape without visible distortion.
